About Eterna
Eterna is an Indonesian technology and business-process outsourcing company that connects skilled Indonesian talent with fast-growing businesses around the world. We build and operate software platforms for international clients and place our engineers directly into their teams, handling hiring, HR, and payroll so our people can focus on doing great work.
We operate as a fully remote team across multiple time zones, where ownership, clear communication, and initiative matter just as much as technical expertise.
About the Role
We're looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer with AWS expertise to support our development teams and streamline infrastructure operations. You'll play a key role in ensuring smooth CI/CD workflows, infrastructure reliability, and secure deployments across our cloud systems. You'll work closely with U.S. clients and our in-house product teams to maintain and enhance performance, scalability, and security.
You'll be the person the team relies on to ship reliably and keep things running smoothly, owning deployments and pipelines, watching over production, and getting ahead of problems before they turn into incidents. Some familiarity with frontend development, particularly React, is a plus, since you'll collaborate closely with developers, but this role is firmly centered on DevOps and cloud operations. If you take pride in solid infrastructure, clean automation, and solving production problems, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Work On
- Design, build, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure using AWS (EC2, ECS, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.).
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or CodePipeline.
- Monitor system health and optimize performance using tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, or Prometheus.
- Collaborate with developers to containerize applications using Docker and orchestrate with ECS or Kubernetes.
- Set up and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Ensure robust security practices including IAM policies, VPCs, encryption, and automated backups.
- Perform and support database migrations and help resolve data-related issues.
- Create and maintain runbooks and operational documentation for repeatable, reliable operations.
- Troubleshoot production issues and participate in on-call rotations when needed.
Requirements
- Solid hands-on experience with AWS services and Linux-based systems.
- Proficiency in Bash scripting and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
- Familiarity with Docker, container orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or CodePipeline.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana, or similar.
- Comfortable working with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL or MySQL) and supporting migrations.
- Strong troubleshooting and systems-thinking skills, with a bias for automation.
- Good understanding of networking concepts and cloud security best practices.
- Proficient in English with strong written communication skills.
- A reliable internet connection and a suitable remote work setup.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Kubernetes (EKS or self-hosted).
- Exposure to monitoring stacks like ELK, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Familiarity with serverless architectures and API Gateway / Lambda.
- An AWS certification (e.g. Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer).
- Experience or familiarity with React (JavaScript / TypeScript), to collaborate closely with developers and occasionally contribute to the application codebase.
- Experience supporting production SaaS applications.
- Prior experience working remotely with distributed teams.
What We Offer
- 100% remote work with an experienced engineering team.
- The opportunity to work on products used by international clients.
- Ownership over infrastructure, deployments, reliability, and operational excellence.
- Deep, hands-on exposure to AWS and modern cloud-native engineering practices.
- A collaborative environment that encourages continuous learning and technical growth.

Please submit your CV along with any portfolio, GitHub profile, or project links that showcase your work.
If possible, include a brief description of an infrastructure, deployment, or automation challenge you've personally worked on, how you approached it, and the impact it had.
