Eterna Indonesia is looking for a detail-oriented Data Mining & Research Specialist to help identify stalled or denied development projects across multiple U.S. cities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys structured research, reviewing official documents, and maintaining organized data.
You will review Planning Commission and City Council agendas, minutes, and staff reports from cities in Northern California and Utah. From these documents, you will identify development-related cases (rezones, subdivisions, site plans, CUPs, variances, etc.) and log them into our tracking system.
We will train you on exactly what to look for. What we need is someone who is:
• Excellent in English reading comprehension
• Meticulous and consistent
• Comfortable working with structured data
• Able to follow clear processes accurately
• A background in law, government, urban planning, administrative work, or document-heavy research is a strong advantage
• Review agendas, minutes, and staff reports from assigned cities
• Identify projects related to zoning, land use, development, or permit
• Record key information: project name, applicant, outcome, and notes
• Flag important cases such as denied or continued items
• Maintain accurate spreadsheets and organized PDF folders
• Submit short weekly summaries of findings
• Excellent English reading & writing
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Comfortable with Google Sheets, Excel, and cloud folders
• Experience in legal research, government processes, public data, or admin work is a plus
• Ability to follow SOPs and work independently with consistency
